Combining her knowledge of the law with her compassion for helping people is what makes Jade Bristol Verity, Esq. uniquely qualified to guide residents in Montgomery County through the intricacies of estate planning, probate, and business law.
Ms. Verity applies her experience in estate planning to help her clients secure their families' futures by minimizing estate taxes and protecting their wealth. Specifically, Ms. Verity provides assistance in drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, Beneficiary Designations, Living Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Life Insurance Trusts, Testamentary Trusts, various types of Charitable Trusts and in death tax issues. In addition, Ms. Verity is experienced with estate administration (probate) and has served as a court-appointed personal representative in the Montgomery County Orphans' Court. Ms. Verity also counsels a variety of business clients regarding such issues as choice of entity, employee matters, and business succession planning.
Prior to forming her own firm, Ms. Verity was an associate in the Securities Litigation department of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in Washington, D.C. Ms. Verity earned a B.A. in English Literature from Humboldt State University and a J.D., with honors, from Georgetown University Law Center. While at Georgetown, she won the Leahy Moot Court Competition and the coveted award of "Outstanding Advocate." Ms. Verity also earned special recognition for her academic work in internet commerce taxation.
Ms. Verity is eligible to practice law both in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She is an active member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, and is a member of the Estates & Trusts sections of each.
Ms. Verity takes pride in her many pro bono activities. She has previously served on the Planned Giving Committee of the Children's Inn at NIH; the Board of Directors of StandUp For Kids (a national non-profit); and has provided counseling for low-income clients through the Montgomery County Bar Association's legal clinics.
Ms. Verity lives in Montgomery County, Maryland with her husband and five children.
